Design Process

What are the problems with the current structure? 

What are your needs in the new structure? 

How do you use the rooms of your house (e.g. studio, guest room, kids' room)?

What existing sections of your house work well and you wish to keep?

The initial schematic design process is iterative – my sketches and your feedback will help clarify what you want for your remodeled or new home. Of course, the clearer vision you have on what you want, the easier it is to move through this phase. 

I bring in the structural engineer for assessment which further clarifies the design.

I am experienced with the local building offices and codes and I'll work with you through the permitting process. I provide construction  drawings for your builder. If desired, I can continue to project manage through construction.

I work directly with you, your builder, the engineer and sometimes all four together, as needed, to bring ideas to the table, clarify issues, and work together to meet your goals.
